Screebe Country House is a hidden gem. A complete mixture of relaxation, gourmet food, amazing scenery, nice walks & luxurious comfort. First impressions was a sense of tranquility as you drive through the hills and beautiful countryside that lead up to the main house. We were greeted by a lovely lady called Michelle who explained all the amenities Screebe had to offer. A spa with Sauna, steam room, swimming pool and outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking Camus bay. Then we were shown to our luxurious room fit for a King & Queen with all the grandeur and decor you would expect in a fine country house. In the evening we went to the bar and enjoyed a lovely pint of Guinness. We were then brought to our table in the restaurant with the spectacular views overlooking Camus bay. Complements to the chef the food was superb. The staff were super nice, mannerly and informative. We had the pleasure in meeting the owner Ursula who came over to chat. We got to hear all about the history of the house and Ursula’s passion for natural locality sourced produce and home grown produce from the gardens at the house. We would like to thank Ursula and all at Screebe house for the most tranquil and very welcoming time we spent there. We came away relaxed, refreshed and ready to return very soon. Peter & Tina

The food, the service and friendliness

The property and accommodations are beautiful and the service was outstanding.

The room was amazing as was the food both at dinner and at breakfast.

The jacuzzi was out of action on Sunday morning which was disappointing as the spa is one of the reasons we like to stay there.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very gracious, friendly, and helpful. And the restaurant was superb! We enjoy our stay at the Screebe and give it and A++ !

It was our third time staying and each time we visit we are more impressed by the team and the location. The food is top quality. The Atlantic Way seafood plate for breakfast was Devine!! All meals were excellent and with such friendly service. There are so many great things to mention about Screeb and all of the team, but two things stand out: - I was very delayed in driving over to Screeb from Dublin and so much so that we arrived 10 mins before the sauna (which has THE most incredible view of the lake) was due to close. It really is a fabulous sauna and they agreed to keep it open for me. That was a really special touch. It was the reaction to the request that was most soothing. It was met with a surety that it could be done and that I was now to relax and start enjoying my stay. The other point of mention is for Simon who went above and beyond the already typical high standard of service from all the team when he retrieved some chocolate brownie from a closed kitchen for my diabetic partner just as a precaution if blood sugars fell during the night. I know that it’s only a brownie but it was the really pleasant way that Simon (who was busy clearing up after a late dinner session) went about getting me sorted. You could see that he had a passion for great service to all of the hotels clients. Well done Screeb House!! I’ll be back again for sure!

The down duvets and pillows were of outstanding quality and very much appreciated! The beauty and quality of the decor and the welcoming, attentive staff plus beautiful views were wonderful. Hope to return and stay longer.

As always a lovely warm welcome to my home away from home in Connemara !! A lovely relaxed but way too brief stay with great service and super food ! Thanks again to Vida and staff and I look forward to another summer visit soon !

We had a wonderful stay, the food was absolutely amazing, one of the best dinners we had in a long time and beautiful surroundings, a hidden gem.

Everything! It was our second stay and we can't wait to go back again. Hopefully for two nights next time. Since our 1st stay I've recommended Screebe House to four couples who have stayed with you and are equally impressed. Two of the couples have stayed multiple time while the other two stayed recently for the 1st time.

Only one negative. I had a terrible night's sleep because of the pillows. I'll just bring my own next time. Not a big deal.
